What is leasing?

Modified on Tue, 17 Oct, 2023 at 5:34 PM

Leasing is a contractual agreement between an owner of assets (typically referred to as the Lessor) and users of those assets (referred to as the Lessee). Under this arrangement, the owner permits the user to use the asset against payment in the form of lease rent for a specified period of time. The title of goods (also known as the “ownership”) remains with the owner (the Lessor) of the asset.

For example, you can purchase laptops and rent them to Melorra through the Tap Invest platform. Since you own the asset and Melorra will be using it, you'll receive predefined monthly rent for the tenure period.
